Fretwork

Over time all guitar frets will wear and become damaged through playing. This can cause issues with buzzing and tuning, making your guitar much less enjoyable to play.

The most common type of fretwork is a fret level. This removes the wear and reshapes the frets, making the frets look and feel like new again. If the wear is left untreated for too long, the strings can work grooves into the frets, which can be too deep to level out. The frets will then need replacing.

Fret levels are done on a specially designed neck jig. This keeps the neck perfectly straight for accuracy whilst it is being worked on.

For Costings see the Price List page

New strings are required for most fretwork and the cost of the strings will be extra.

Refretting, can also often mean a new nut is needed due to the original one being too low. This is also at an extra cost.
